About

When I arrived in New Zealand for the first time from Brazil in 2002, I fell in love with the beautiful people and places. In 2011, after working for 5 years in one of the best hotels in the Bay of Plenty, I realised that even though I loved hospitality, the stress of this industry wasn’t right for my health and wellbeing. I took my doctor’s advice to look for something to do that I loved outside of work, and makeup became my passion.

I enjoyed it so much that it gave me the courage to gain my International Diploma in Makeup Art Technology, switch careers become a professional makeup artist. Before I had even finished my course, I did my first wedding and started doing makeup for special occasions. I realised that if I also knew how to perfectly style hair, I could offer my clients a complete package, so I took a few different hairstyling courses and continued to learn and build my skills.

A few years later, I moved back to Brazil to be close to my family, and that's when I did my full hairdressing training as well as many advanced specialisation courses in colorimetry, balayage, highlighting, cutting and styling. After working as an assistant for one of the best local hairdressers who taught me so much, I opened my own salon.

You may not know this, but the Brazilian clientele is particular and has huge expectations when it comes to anything beauty related, which means I had to be not just good. I had to be exceptional. I kept learning, working hard, and specialising to make sure I could meet and exceed my clients’ expectations.

These almost 5 years back in Brazil were a game changer in my Makeup Artistry and Hairstyling career. However, my heart had been calling me back to NZ and at the end of 2017, I finally convinced my now husband to move back to my second home, Tauranga.

Working in salons here in New Zealand, I found the culture quite different. Everything seemed so rushed, and I missed doing things my own way. When our twin boys were born, I just couldn’t imagine going back to work at a busy salon.

We were blessed to buy our home in Papamoa, and we converted our double garage into a beautiful, registered salon, creating a space that truly represents the pride and passion I have for my work. I chose to work with Keune hair products which is an amazing Dutch hair cosmetics brand.

On weekdays, I normally do colours and cuts, especially blondes and balayage. On the weekends, I prioritise hair and makeup for weddings and special occasions as I offer a fully mobile service for makeup and hair styling. It's such an honour to help people look and feel like the best version of themselves. I absolutely love what I do.

Being a working mum to twin toddlers, I know how busy modern life is. I'm a practical person and like to make life as easy and effortless as possible where I can. My attitude towards hairstyling reflects just that.

I like to offer my clients beautiful, easy to manage, low maintenance colours and cuts that result in healthier hair (and pockets) in the long run. I’m honest and straight up with my clients, and always make sure to ask about their medium- and long-term hair goals and explain consequences of certain colour and cut choices before we make any decisions.

I always request new clients to book a free consultation before their first colour appointment. If you are interested in finding out what I can do to make you look and feel amazing, book your consultation or appointment now.
